Home of theoriginal Fat Boy.

An Angus patty under a ladle of our own chili sauce, mayo, mustard, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato and cheddar. Sesame bun, fresh-cut fries. Winnipeg has ordered it this way since the fifties.

The build

Ten layers deep.
One napkin won't cut it.

The chili sauce is the whole argument. Slightly sweet, a little heat, no beans, closer to a Coney sauce than a bowl of chili, and it goes on hot so everything under it softens into the patty.

Since the fifties

The sauce started here.
The name came later.

In the mid-1950s a Greek immigrant named Gus Scouras opened a burger counter at Main and Broadway and called it Junior's. He figured he was the junior of the two brothers. He put a ladle of chili meat sauce on a hamburger and put it on the board as the Lotta Burger.

Winnipeg has never really eaten a burger any other way since. Cooks who came up in the Scouras kitchens opened their own rooms across the city and took the sauce with them, and somewhere along the way somebody else's sign started calling it the Fat Boy. The name stuck. So did the sauce.

“If you grew up in Winnipeg, you grew up on Fat Boys.”

“Probably had my best Juniors cheeseburger to date! Soft bun, thick patty, a heap of chilli, and topped with a healthy amount of onions and pickles. The fries were seasoned so well I didn't mind eating without ketchup!”

★★★★★

“Poutine to die for, the best ever. The gravy is king. Quick, fast and friendly service. 10 stars out of 5 for real.”

★★★★★

“My first fatboy burger! They did not disappoint. Super love it! My niece and nephew also loved the burger. This will be our go-to place whenever we crave some burger. The staff are super nice too!”
